On Saturday morning, authorities apprehended a 28-year-old man suspected of opening fire in the vicinity of the 2300 block of Benjamin Franklin Parkway. This incident occurred around 2:30 PM on Friday, amidst celebrations for the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl championship, as reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer, citing local police.

A 27-year-old woman sustained a leg injury after attempting to bypass a line for a portable restroom, which triggered a confrontation.

Additionally, a 20-year-old bystander was shot in the thigh during the chaos.

According to reports, the incident began when someone in the crowd hit the woman’s boyfriend, leading to shots being fired into the crowd.

The two injured individuals have been transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where their condition is reported as stable, according to police.

The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, is currently in police custody, and charges are expected to be filed.

Authorities have confirmed that a firearm was recovered during the investigation.

This violent episode unfolded near the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where Eagles players and officials were addressing the crowd during the festive remarks, as shared by Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore.
