Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback from Colorado, has decided not to participate in the on-field workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine.
As reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Sanders will conduct interviews with various teams but will not engage in the physical drills at the combine. He does intend to showcase his skills during Colorado’s Pro Day, where he will be throwing to receivers he has collaborated with during his college career. Additionally, his father and head coach, Deion Sanders, will be present to oversee the proceedings.
It’s common for elite prospects to skip the on-field drills, as they often prefer the familiar setting of their Pro Day to demonstrate their abilities to NFL teams.
Once considered the frontrunner for the first overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders’ position has shifted recently, with Miami’s quarterback Cam Ward emerging as the new favorite. Currently, Cam Ward boasts odds of -140 at DraftKings for the top pick. Following him in the betting lines are Penn State’s pass rusher Abdul Carter at +165, Colorado’s versatile athlete Travis Hunter at +550, and Sanders himself at +650.
