Shark Attack at Thompson Cove Beach: Tourist Suffers Severe Injuries While Taking Selfie

Thompson Cove Beach, Turks and Caicos Islands – A shocking incident occurred when a Canadian tourist lost both her hands in a shark attack while trying to capture a selfie with the creature.

Reports from The New Zealand Herald indicate that the victim is a 55-year-old woman who was vacationing at the popular Caribbean destination.

The unfortunate event unfolded when she allegedly tried to interact with a 6-foot bull shark, resulting in the animal attacking her and causing devastating injuries to her hands. Medical reports state that one of her hands was amputated below the wrist, while the other was severed halfway up her forearm.

Fortunately, fellow beachgoers acted swiftly to assist her. Her husband managed to drive the shark away after the attack, and bystanders rallied to control the bleeding by applying their clothing as makeshift bandages.

Authorities confirmed that the woman was specifically attempting to photograph herself with the shark when the incident took place, and they identified the species involved as a bull shark.
