In the second quarter, Sharpe showcased his agility by skillfully intercepting an outlet pass near midcourt. Seizing the opportunity, he made a beeline for the basket.

Although it’s only February, that incredible dunk has already put Sharpe in contention for Dunk of the Year. The astonishment of his teammates was palpable; they were so taken aback that they left Tristan Vukčević unguarded for an open 3-pointer—unfortunately, Vukčević missed the attempt.

Entering this match, Sharpe was averaging a career-high 16.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in his third season with the Trail Blazers, who drafted him as the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

In this game, the 21-year-old achieved a noteworthy team-leading performance with 36 points and eight rebounds off the bench, helping Portland improve its season record to 26-33. Anfernee Simons contributed 16 points, while Scoot Henderson also added 16 points from the bench. The Trail Blazers are now on a three-game winning streak and are just four games behind the final play-in spot in the Western Conference.

For the Wizards, Jordan Poole was the top scorer with 24 points and five rebounds, while Richaud Holmes and Corey Kispert each chipped in 20 points. Champagnie didn’t score but grabbed five rebounds in the defeat. With this loss, Washington’s record has fallen to 10-48, the worst in the league.
