According to a report from The Associated Press, Pope Francis is in a serious condition following an asthmatic respiratory episode, as confirmed by the Vatican.

In a statement relayed by The Associated Press, the Vatican mentioned, “The Holy Father remains alert and spent the day resting in an armchair, though he is experiencing more discomfort than yesterday. Currently, the prognosis is uncertain.”

The 88-year-old leader of the Catholic Church has been under hospital care for over a week due to a respiratory infection, which doctors later identified as pneumonia.
