A 24-year-old transgender man from Minnesota, who had been reported missing since December, was found dead in a field located in the Finger Lakes area of upstate New York, according to authorities. The victim, identified as Sam Nordquist, endured severe violence and torture over several months leading up to his tragic discovery this week.
On Friday, the New York State Police announced that five individuals have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with his death. Investigators revealed that at least one of the suspects had been staying with Nordquist at a motel prior to the incident.
Captain Kelly Swift from the State Police’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation described the case as one of the most horrific he has encountered in his two decades of law enforcement experience. “The actions and circumstances surrounding this crime are appallingly depraved,” remarked Ontario County District Attorney James Ritts.
The individuals charged in the case include Precious Arzuaga, aged 38, and Jennifer A. Quijano, aged 30, both from Geneva, NY; Kyle Sage, 33, from Hopewell, NY; Patrick A. Goodwin, 30, and Emily Motyka, 19, both from Rochester, NY. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover more details related to this disturbing event.
