Recently leaked renders of the Pixel 9A seem to validate ongoing speculation that Google is minimizing the camera bump this year. The images, detailed by Android Headlines, showcase the device in four distinct colors: Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), Peony (pink), and Iris (purple).
With most smartphones now featuring pronounced camera bumps, a flat design has become rare. This makes the Pixel 9A renders particularly intriguing, despite a slight projection noticeable when viewed from the side.
According to information from Android Headlines, the Pixel 9A will have a dual-camera setup on the back, featuring a 48-megapixel primary lens (reduced from 64-megapixels in the 8A) and a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens. For selfies, the front-facing camera will also be 13-megapixels. Additionally, the device is expected to be equipped with a robust 5,100mAh battery, an upgrade from the 4,492mAh found in its predecessor.
Android Headlines has reported that the base model with 128GB of storage will retail for $499, while the 256GB variant will be priced at $599. Google is anticipated to make an official announcement on March 19th, with a launch date set for March 26th.
Previous reports have also indicated that the Pixel 9A might feature a 6.3-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, fueled by a Tensor G4 chipset and packing 8GB of RAM. The maximum storage capacity is expected to be 256GB. This budget-friendly smartphone is likely to face competition from Apple’s upcoming fourth-generation iPhone SE, which is rumored to be revealed soon.
