Fans of the New York Knicks can once again enjoy live games of their beloved National Basketball Association team, thanks to a new agreement between Altice USA and MSG Networks.
The partnership has enabled the return of both the NBA’s New York Knicks and NHL teams including the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, and New Jersey Devils to Altice USA subscribers. This agreement came just in time for the highly anticipated game between the Rangers and Sabres, set to take place at 5:30 PM ET.
In a recent statement, the companies announced, “MSG Networks and Altice USA are excited to confirm their agreement for the reinstatement of MSG Networks on Optimum’s video offerings. We appreciate the patience of fans and subscribers as we worked together to finalize this beneficial arrangement.”
While specific financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, it is understood that Altice USA will have the option to include MSG Networks in its “Everything TV” package which is priced at $140 per month. Altice has also introduced slimmed-down bundles that exclude sports channels, catering to cost-conscious consumers.
According to sources, Altice USA is now negotiating a lower carriage fee for MSG Networks compared to previous arrangements. Representatives from both Altice USA and MSG Networks declined further comment beyond their public statement.
It’s worth noting that Altice USA had not offered MSG Networks since January 1. Pay television providers like Altice are increasingly adopting a firmer approach to restructure their regional sports network offerings, aiming to keep subscription costs manageable for viewers.
