Concern arose among a man’s friends following an unexpected emergency SOS alert sent from his phone during the early hours of the weekend. However, their worries were not directed towards his well-being.

The delighted user of a Google Pixel decided to share the humorous episode involving the incident and the unintentional naked photos sent to his friends on Reddit.

“My morning kicked off with quite the twist… I just had to share this,” he recounted. “Last night, I stayed up a bit too late but set my alarm for 8 AM without a worry.”

For many, this is just a usual routine. Set your alarm, fall asleep, and don’t give it a second thought.

While many have tossed aside traditional alarm clocks, this amusing incident might just sway some back to the classics. At 8 AM, his phone alarm began to blare.

“Still half asleep, I started fumbling with my phone to silence it. In my flurry, I accidentally pressed the power button five times and triggered the Emergency SOS,” he explained.

“What began as a gentle ringing rapidly escalated into a blaring siren, causing me to jump in bed and scramble to turn it off. I grabbed my phone and squinted at the screen, still groggy.”

A memorable wake-up call for his emergency contacts

That’s when he realized notifications were popping up about contacting 911, as well as sending his location to his emergency contacts.

“I thought, ‘OH NO, emergency services are going to be alerted, and my friends will panic while I’m here lying naked in bed!'” he recalled.

He managed to cancel the alerts, or so he believed. As he typed “phone malfunction” as an explanation for canceling the SOS, he hoped to ease the worries of the 12 emergency contacts on his list.

Unfortunately, that was not the case. Soon after, his phone began to ring, and a barrage of texts from worried friends flooded in. “My friends were concerned…but not about my safety, rather, they were more worried that MY PIXEL SENT A PHOTO/VIDEO OF ME NAKED.”

Apparently, a quirky “feature” of his phone allows it to automatically send images or videos if an SOS is triggered—a fact he felt compelled to document as proof.

He humorously noted, “So yes, the Pixel’s SOS function is an unexpected way to send naked pictures, folks.” Definitely worth knowing for those who tend to sleep in the buff!

None of his friends were upset or offended by the awkward way his day began. They all took it lightheartedly, and he promptly updated the SOS settings along with his emergency contacts.

This is a scenario that an old-school alarm clock would never create. It has no judgment about nudity and isn’t capturing images to share with your friends.
