The Jacksonville Jaguars have officially appointed a new General Manager.
On Friday afternoon, the team announced the hiring of James Gladstone for this important position.
“It is my pleasure to introduce James Gladstone as the new General Manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars,” stated team owner Shad Khan in an official release. “James stood out as my choice, as well as our collective choice, after an exhaustive yet invigorating interview process that eliminated any doubts. Each candidate excelled, and I appreciate their dedication and the time they invested with us this week in Jacksonville. Ultimately, we concluded that James possesses a distinct edge and displays excellence in various areas—such as vision, fresh ideas, effective communication, strong chemistry, and a deep understanding of both the league and our team—just to name a few of the admirable qualities he will bring to the Jaguars from day one.”
“Observing James collaborate with our football leadership team, which includes Liam Coen, Tony Boselli, and Tony Khan, promises to be both exciting and fulfilling. I have complete confidence in this,” he added.
Gladstone’s entire career in the NFL has been with the Los Angeles Rams, where he began working in 2016. He was elevated to the role of director of scouting strategy in 2022, having successfully served in that position for the past three years.
James was the final individual interviewed for the job by Jacksonville, as the team revealed earlier on Friday.
He succeeds Trent Baalke, who was let go in January after it was reported that Liam Coen had withdrawn his name from contention for the head coach position. Shortly after Baalke’s departure, Coen accepted the role of head coach for the Jaguars.
Coen and Gladstone previously collaborated during their time with the Rams, and now they reunite in Jacksonville, joined by executive Vice President of Football Operations Tony Boselli, who is also poised to lead the Jaguars into their next chapter.
