Israel convened a security meeting to address the potential placement of caravans in the Gaza Strip shortly after three hostages were released.

This meeting follows the circulation of a video on social media that depicted trucks transporting caravans, purportedly intended for families whose residences in Gaza have been destroyed.

“Following a security consultation led by the Prime Minister, it was agreed that discussions regarding the caravan situation will take place in the upcoming days. Israel is in full coordination with the United States,” stated an official source.

On Wednesday, both the defense establishment and the Prime Minister’s Office refuted claims made by Hamas, which suggested that caravans had been brought into Gaza at their request for families displaced by destruction.

Sources from the Civil Administration indicated that the circulating video—showing trucks reportedly delivering caravans within Gaza—is misleading and likely produced during summer, not on a rainy day such as today, and is being disseminated by Hamas.

The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also released a statement disputing the video’s authenticity.

“Contrary to reports from Arab media, there are currently no caravans scheduled to enter the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing,” stated PM spokesman Omer Dostri.

“As per the agreement with mediators, the Rafah crossing is managed by a multinational force solely for the evacuation of Gazans to Egypt and/or to a third country.”

Negotiators Urge Israel to Facilitate Aid to Gaza

Recently, the Saudi news outlet Al-Hadath cited Egyptian sources indicating that mediators have requested Israel to permit unrestricted entry of various forms of aid into the Gaza Strip.

However, Israel has maintained a strict stance regarding the entry of tents and prefabricated housing into the region. Discussions also centered on the medical evacuation of the injured, with Egyptian sources alleging that Israel has postponed the departure of wounded individuals, citing their association with Hamas.
