In a heartfelt gesture, Bethesda is providing players a special Fallout complimentary gift this week, even though the issue at hand was entirely out of their control.
A big thanks to Gamerant’s Anthony Bussing for revealing the details!
For those who missed it, last weekend, the PlayStation Network experienced significant outages on both Friday and Saturday.
Gamers around the world found themselves unable to utilize online features on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, with many missing out on free game access through PlayStation Plus.
In response, Sony is graciously granting players a few complimentary days of PlayStation Plus, a fair gesture considering the inconvenience.
Adding to this, Bethesda has opted to extend their goodwill by providing some bonus content, although the motivation behind this remains unclear; nonetheless, it is appreciated.
To alleviate the impact of the downtime, Bethesda has initiated a “Double SCORE” event in Fallout 76 from February 13 to February 17.
This event aligns with a Double XP opportunity to help gamers advance their characters more swiftly, though the XP event was already scheduled prior to the PSN issues.
For those unfamiliar with Fallout 76 or who might never dive into it (and that’s completely fine), “SCORE” is the point system used by players to progress through the current season and earn special rewards.
The rewards system changes each season, typically featuring items such as Atom Credits (usable in the in-game store) or decorations for player camps.
While these rewards might not be the most extraordinary, it’s commendable that Bethesda is taking the time to acknowledge their players’ experiences.
Reflecting on it, Fallout 76 could make for an interesting addition to the PlayStation Plus lineup in the future…
