Since taking the helm as the new head coach for the New Orleans Saints, former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has actively sought out members of Nick Sirianni’s coaching team. We now have confirmation that at least one assistant from the Eagles will join Moore in New Orleans.

According to a report by Nick Underhill, the Eagles will be parting ways with run game specialist and assistant offensive line coach T.J. Paganetti, who is set to join the Saints.

At this moment, Paganetti’s new role with the Saints has not been disclosed.

Paganetti began his coaching journey at Oregon and became a member of the Eagles’ coaching staff when Chip Kelly first arrived in 2013. Here is a brief overview of his coaching career:

2013-2014 — Offensive analyst for the Eagles (focusing on offense and quarterbacks)
2015-2016 — Graduate assistant/linebackers coach at Oregon
2017-2018 — Offensive quality control coach/assistant offensive line coach with the Eagles
2019-2020 — Assistant running backs coach for the Eagles
2021-2022 — Offensive quality control coach with the Eagles
2023 — Run game specialist and assistant tight ends coach for the Eagles
2024 — Run game specialist and assistant offensive line coach for the Eagles

A two-time Super Bowl champion, Paganetti has built a strong foundation, having worked alongside the renowned Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. With the Saints unable to bring in Stoutland, they have opted for one of his former disciples instead.

Additionally, Underhill reports that Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier is the leading candidate to take on the role of offensive coordinator for the Saints. This is not unexpected, as Nussmeier has been viewed as a strong possibility to accompany Moore to New Orleans in a higher capacity. If Nussmeier secures the OC position and Brandon Staley is favored to become the defensive coordinator, the Eagles may successfully keep Jemal Singleton and Christian Parker.

It appears, however, that both Paganetti and Nussmeier will likely be departing.
