Graphics cards have become remarkably advanced in recent years, but acquiring them has increasingly become a challenge. To tackle this issue, NVIDIA has launched a new initiative called Verified Priority Access for its latest GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. This program allows a select number of individuals the opportunity to purchase either the GeForce RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 Founders Edition directly from NVIDIA.

This exclusive opportunity is limited to US customers who created their NVIDIA accounts prior to January 30 at 9 AM ET/6 AM PT. Interested users can sign up via a designated form, with invitations set to be distributed starting next week.

NVIDIA previously implemented a similar strategy to mitigate shortages of the RTX 4090 card, which was available through an invite-only program. This approach aims to minimize the impact of scalpers and cryptocurrency miners, ensuring that genuine customers have better access to these sought-after products. However, given the persistent challenges in accessing GPUs, it would be beneficial for manufacturers to devise more comprehensive solutions to alleviate these ongoing issues.
