Weidel: ‘If the AfD were in power, this man wouldn’t be here’

Alice Weidel, the chancellor candidate representing the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), stated that the 24-year-old Afghan man in custody for allegedly crashing his vehicle into a labor union march in Munich would never have entered Germany if her party had been in control.

“This scenario repeats itself: an asylum-seeker arrives in Germany, his request is denied, yet he remains,” she remarked during a live discussion with the public on ZDF, asserting, “Under AfD governance, he would not have been here to begin with.”

Weidel redirected the responsibility for the situation towards Bavarian Premier Markus Söder (CSU), emphasizing: “Politicians, especially Söder, need to answer: What was this individual doing here?”

For context, Weidel made these comments shortly after Söder clarified that the suspect indeed held a valid residency permit and was not under a deportation order as previously suggested (refer to earlier entry below).

“I’m perplexed by these political missteps. This pattern is constant, and the public is fed up,” Weidel continued. “They are seeking solutions, advocating for secure borders, demanding strict law enforcement, and calling for the deportation of illegal immigrants and offenders.”

Weidel then faced her first question from an audience member who owns a company specializing in advanced plastic brain implants, where 21% of the staff is composed of individuals from 27 nations.

“Our diverse, global business model has driven innovation that we now export to 81 countries,” he stated, adding that many employees currently feel anxious and unwelcome.

Initially, Weidel emphasized her stance against using gender-neutral language by saying, “I don’t identify with that approach,” and asserted that the AfD’s only intention is to deport what she describes as illegal migrants and criminals.
