Ubisoft is hinting at a groundbreaking transformation of Rainbow Six Siege, with an exciting reveal set for March, titled Siege X.
This new chapter, referred to as “the most significant evolution in the game’s history,” promises to introduce enhanced tactical gameplay, visual and audio improvements, and much more. Rather than being a sequel, Siege X represents a substantial update aimed at revitalizing Rainbow Six Siege as it steps into its second decade of live service.
You can watch the teaser trailer for Siege X below.
Initially launched in December 2015, Rainbow Six Siege faced challenges, but the extensive updates and support from Ubisoft have led to one of the most remarkable comebacks in gaming history, akin to the transformations seen with Final Fantasy 14 and No Man’s Sky.
Over the past ten years, Rainbow Six Siege has consistently generated revenue, even when other live service titles from Ubisoft struggled to find success. In light of Ubisoft’s recent challenges, including financial hurdles and investor concerns, the stakes for Siege X are higher than ever.
Maintaining relevance and financial stability for a decade is no small feat, which is why Ubisoft is keen to rejuvenate Rainbow Six Siege with this significant update. More details will be disclosed on March 13 during the Siege X Showcase.
