The Tennessee Titans face several important decisions regarding the top overall pick in the upcoming draft, particularly whether to retain it or explore trade options.
During a press conference on Tuesday, General Manager Mike Borgonzi addressed inquiries about interest from other teams in trading for the first pick. He confirmed that there have been discussions but noted that these talks have not progressed to substantial negotiation stages.
“We’ve received a number of calls,” Borgonzi stated. “I prefer to keep the specifics to myself… We haven’t delved too deeply into it so far.”
Another critical aspect for the Titans to consider is which player to select with the top pick. Borgonzi mentioned that there are “several players considered to be generational talents.” This opens up the possibility for the team to either trade down while remaining competitive in the draft order or to move back up after initially trading down.
As Borgonzi navigates his inaugural draft in Tennessee, making informed decisions will be crucial for the team’s aspirations of a swift bounce-back.
