Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, has announced that future livestream events and presentations by Microsoft will display the logos of PlayStation and Nintendo whenever appropriate. In a conversation with XboxEra, Spencer emphasized the company’s commitment to being “honest and transparent about where the games are” being launched. This means that during the expected Xbox Games Showcase this summer, viewers will be informed if a PS5 version is in the works.
According to Spencer, this topic was discussed within the Xbox team last year while preparing for their June livestream; however, they could not finalize all the necessary assets in time. As a result, DOOM: The Dark Ages was revealed for the PS5 right after the digital event.
“I want to be open with everyone — when it comes to releases on Nintendo Switch, we’ll make that known,” Phil Spencer stated. “For PlayStation, on Steam… customers should be aware of the platforms where they can find our games, but I also want them to enjoy our Xbox community through our games and everything else we offer, across all available screens.”
If recent speculation is accurate, viewers may see many PlayStation logos featured in Microsoft’s trailers this year. Titles such as Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and Age of Mythology: Retold are confirmed for the PS5 and will launch shortly. Furthermore, there are strong rumors regarding ports for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Gears of War, and Senua’s Sage: Hellblade II. Microsoft has also formally announced future titles like DOOM: The Dark Ages and The Outer Worlds 2 will be available on Sony’s latest system.
