In 2024, Papergames, the creator of Infinity Nikki, nearly reached $1 billion in revenue.
As noted by Daniel Ahmad, the director of research and insights at Niko Partners, this Chinese company has played a pivotal role in popularizing otome games—romantic-themed titles primarily aimed at a female audience—both domestically and internationally.
According to a report by Forbes, Papergames, which also created the widely popular dating simulator Love and Deepspace—showcasing over six million active users each month—is available in multiple languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. The company’s remarkable success led to approximately $850 million in sales globally last year, significantly boosting the net worth of its 37-year-old founder, Yao Runhao, to a staggering $1.3 billion.
While Infinity Nikki is both developed and published by Papergames in mainland China, it is published by Fearless in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and distributed by Infold Games in other regions, including the U.S. and Europe.
Notably, the fifth installment of the popular dress-up game, Infinity Nikki, is set to launch soon on Steam.
As the new year begins, the creators of Infinity Nikki are actively working on a range of enhancements and optimizations for their popular free-to-play gacha game.
The decisions for the upcoming open-world action-adventure expansion were shaped by “millions of player suggestions,” with a focus on addressing various optimizations, starting with enhancing game performance on mobile devices—a challenge the developers acknowledge needs immediate attention.
In a four-star review from last year, our reviewer praised Infinity Nikki as a “significant advancement for open-world gacha games,” highlighting that it “introduces much-needed competition to the miHoYo dominance.”
