The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) conducted a survey where players from all 32 teams rated their respective owners, and one owner notably received a failing grade.

Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets, was the sole recipient of an F, positioning him at the bottom of the league in terms of player satisfaction with ownership.

According to the NFLPA report card, players believe that Johnson is unwilling to make the necessary changes to help improve the team’s performance.

The report highlights that after receiving a D- for their food service last year, the Jets decreased the food budget even more, which led to a decline in meal quality for the athletes. Furthermore, they dismissed the long-term and well-regarded dietician—ironically, the area in which they had previously excelled.

Players expressed concerns over inadequate investment in both locker room facilities and training staff.

“The players feel the locker room is in dire need of renovations. They mention insufficient space and report that the flooring is stained and worn as if it has been untouched for years,” stated the NFLPA report card. “Woody Johnson’s average rating regarding his willingness to invest in the facilities was only 5.58 out of 10, placing him last among all NFL owners. Players believe that Johnson fails to foster a positive team environment, earning a ranking of 32 out of 32 for this aspect as well.”

After the season concluded, Johnson himself acknowledged that the Jets require him to improve as an owner, a sentiment the players would wholeheartedly agree with.
