Adam Manzano, a reporter for Telemundo, was spotted entering a hotel room alongside the notorious “Bourbon Street Hustler” shortly before his tragic death. This has surfaced amid an ongoing investigation into another recent fatal incident involving the same woman.

The 27-year-old Manzano was seen smiling and carrying a plastic shopping bag as he followed Danette Colbert, 48, into the New Orleans hotel room where he would later be found deceased while covering the Super Bowl.

Authorities later discovered Manzano’s cellphone and credit card with Colbert and are probing whether she may have drugged and robbed him.

Colbert is also under investigation for her possible connection to the mysterious death of John Jenkins, a 55-year-old man from Maryland, found dead due to cocaine and ethanol toxicity in a French Quarter hotel on December 15, as reported by NOLA.com.

“We believe there may be a link to this case,” stated Kenner Police Deputy Chief Mark McCormick regarding Jenkins’ death, originally classified as an accidental overdose.

Jenkins was in town for a football game between the Saints and the Washington Commanders, prompting friends to request a wellness check when they were unable to reach him.

Authorities found him unresponsive in his hotel room, according to McCormick.

Kenner detectives are collaborating with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office and State Police Troop Nola to investigate Jenkins’ death and its potential connections to Colbert.

In light of Manzano’s death, several more alleged victims of Colbert have stepped forward, including 52-year-old David Butler, who encountered Colbert in the French Quarter.

During their meeting, Butler recounted how Colbert offered him a cocktail that left him feeling disoriented and in need of assistance to get home.

“She ushered me into a black Suburban that was parked just there,” he revealed to NBC News. “That’s the last thing I remembered from that night.”

A property manager later found Butler unconscious on the floor and had to wake him. Upon regaining consciousness, he noticed his phone and wallet were missing, and his credit cards had been used for charges totaling thousands at Best Buy and Walmart.

He also reported that over $80,000 he had saved in a cryptocurrency account for retirement had vanished.

Records from Nevada’s courts indicate that Colbert faced charges in 2022 for grand larceny and administering drugs to facilitate a felony across two separate incidents. However, both cases were dismissed after the victims chose not to testify.

In October, Colbert was convicted of computer fraud, theft, and illegal monetary transmission. Instead of serving jail time, Orleans Criminal District Judge Nandi Campbell mandated restitution and a five-year probation period.

Butler criticized the leniency of the sentence, claiming that if the court had acted more decisively, Adam Manzano might still be alive.

“Had the court taken stronger action by incarcerating Ms. Colbert or implementing stricter release conditions, it is possible that Mr. Manzano would still be with us,” Butler expressed to NBC.
