Tragedy struck on Monday afternoon at the Scottsdale airport in Arizona, as a private jet belonging to Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil was involved in a collision that resulted in one fatality and several injuries, according to local authorities.

While landing, Neil’s aircraft veered off the runway and crashed into another parked jet, as confirmed by his representative, Worrick Robinson IV. Fortunately, Neil was not aboard the plane at the time. The aircraft included two pilots and two passengers.

“Mr. Neil extends his heartfelt prayers to all impacted by this incident and expresses gratitude for the vital assistance provided by first responders today,” stated Robinson.

According to Kelli Kuester, who oversees aviation planning and outreach at the Scottsdale airport, the jet that was arriving diverged off its intended path and struck a stationary Gulfstream 200 that was on private land. Kuester noted that the left main landing gear on the incoming jet seemed to have failed, which contributed to the accident.

There were four individuals aboard the arriving jet, which had flown in from Austin, Texas, while one person was in the parked aircraft.

The Scottsdale fire department’s Capt. Dave Folio reported that two individuals injured in the mishap were transported to trauma centers, with one in stable condition at a local hospital. Efforts were underway to recover the deceased individual involved in the incident.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this situation,” Folio noted.

The runway has been closed indefinitely, as per Kuester’s statement.

Scottsdale’s mayor, Lisa Borowsky, assured the public that she was closely monitoring developments and coordinating with the airport, law enforcement, and federal agencies.

“On behalf of the city of Scottsdale, we express our deepest sympathies to those involved in this incident and to those receiving care at our trauma center,” she stated. “We will keep all those affected by this tragedy in our thoughts and prayers.”

Scottsdale airport is a well-known hub for private jets traveling in and out of the Phoenix region, especially during significant sporting events like the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament, which draws large crowds just miles away.

This collision occurs in the wake of three significant aviation disasters in the United States over the past two weeks. On January 29, a commercial jetliner and an army helicopter collided near the capital, resulting in 67 fatalities. A medical transport plane went down in Philadelphia on January 31, causing the deaths of all six passengers on board and one individual on the ground. Additionally, a small commuter plane crashed in western Alaska last week while en route to Nome, claiming the lives of all ten passengers aboard.
