It has been confirmed that **Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater** will not include the original game’s **Ape Escape** mini-game on the Xbox platform, likely due to licensing conflicts with PlayStation.
Konami recently released a new trailer for the game, which also revealed the confirmed release date of the remake. In addition, the trailer hinted at the return of the **Snake vs Monkey** mode from the classic PlayStation 2 title.
This mini-game features characters from the **Ape Escape** series exclusive to PlayStation. However, it’s now known that this crossover won’t be available across all game versions.
In the Xbox iteration of the remake, players will find a surprise cameo in place of the Apes: **Bomberman**, a character owned by Konami, not PlayStation.
According to the trailer description: “The beloved mini-game ‘Snake vs Monkey,’ featuring the Pipo Monkeys, will be available for PS5 and Steam! A unique special game will be included for the Xbox version, and more details will follow soon.”
The trailer concludes with a silhouette of Bomberman, leaving fans wondering if this mode will replicate the Snake vs Monkey gameplay.

Last year, VGC had a chance to experience the first 90 minutes of Metal Gear Solid Delta, leaving a positive impression of the gameplay.
Our review noted: “If **Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater** signals the franchise’s revival, it’s making remarkable strides so far. The gameplay feels fluid, the graphics are stunning, and it maintains all the quirky charm that fans adore.”
“It’s as if Konami assessed which elements of MGS 3 needed updating while preserving the unique features that set it apart. We’re more optimistic than ever about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and can’t wait for more.”
