In the past, Tom Brady successfully balanced his roles as the top analyst for Fox Sports and as a minority owner and prominent figure for the Raiders. However, recent developments suggest that he may have shifted away from that delicate position.
As reported by Jordan Schultz of Fox, who is a colleague of Brady, the legendary quarterback recently welcomed Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to his home in Montana.
According to the report, the two spent quality time together on the slopes, and Brady has been working to persuade Stafford to consider joining the Raiders, with conversations currently taking place.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport responded to these revelations, noting that Brady and Stafford “found themselves” at a ski resort in Montana. He emphasized that their encounter was “spontaneous” and did not involve any formal hosting or recruiting discussions.
Schultz has since reaffirmed his stance, stating, “If you honestly believe that Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford just coincidentally met at a ski resort in Montana at the same time, I have a bridge to sell you.”
Although the Rams have allowed Stafford’s agent to communicate with other teams, there has been no confirmation that they have granted permission for Stafford to engage with coaches, executives, or owners from different franchises. If such permission has not been officially given, any meeting between Stafford and Brady could be viewed as a tampering violation. This would explain the attempts to mitigate any potential fallout.
We have reached out to the Rams for further clarification on the permissions afforded to Stafford. If he has not been authorized to meet with other teams, then any organization that does so could be breaching league regulations.
Moreover, any reporter affiliated with Fox discussing this angle risks provoking Tom Brady’s displeasure.
