Mac McClung stunned the audience by clinching his third straight NBA Slam Dunk Contest title with just one impressive round.
The 26-year-old athlete kicked off the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in San Francisco with an electrifying performance, soaring over a KIA sedan to execute a reverse dunk, setting the tone for his remarkable victory.
Each of the five judges awarded McClung a perfect score of 50 points for his astonishing dunk, resulting in an impressive total score in the contest.
This audacious dunk, which involved leaping over a car, pays homage to former NBA star Blake Griffin, who executed a similar feat fourteen years ago.
Griffin’s iconic play was pivotal in securing his win at the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest.
Despite the similarities, McClung distinguished himself by leaping over the tallest part of the car, contrasting with Griffin’s jump over the vehicle’s hood.
With this victory, McClung made history as the first player to win three consecutive Slam Dunk Contests and the second overall to achieve three wins, following Nate Robinson.
