Important announcement from Butte County School District Superintendent, Joe Steele:
Attention, Butte County School District community:
After discussions with our health department regarding the alarming number of illnesses affecting both students and staff, it has been confirmed that cases of influenza and RSV are significantly increasing in our region.
Currently, 28% of our student population is absent due to illness, a rise from 22% just yesterday. In response to this urgent situation, we have decided to cancel classes for the next two days, February 12 and 13, to allow everyone time to recover. Additionally, school will be closed on Friday.
Our custodial team will undertake thorough cleaning and sanitization of the school facilities during this time.
