Champ Kelly, the assistant general manager for the Las Vegas Raiders, has taken part in interviews with the Jacksonville Jaguars regarding their vacant general manager position.
Kelly has recently wrapped up his third year in the assistant GM role with the Raiders, during which he had a brief stint as the interim general manager following the parting of ways with Dave Ziegler and prior to the arrival of Tom Telesco. His background includes significant experience in the scouting departments of both the Chicago Bears and the Denver Broncos.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced they have completed all virtual interviews for their general manager role and are set to start in-person interviews next week.
The GM position in Jacksonville became available after Trent Baalke was let go, just before the hiring of new head coach Liam Coen. The Jaguars are keen to find a general manager who can collaborate effectively with Coen, who reportedly had concerns about Baalke’s ability to work together.
In addition to Kelly, the Jaguars have confirmed other candidates for interviews, including Jon-Eric Sullivan, Vice President of Player Personnel for the Green Bay Packers; Ian Cunningham, Assistant General Manager for the Chicago Bears; Chad Alexander, Assistant General Manager of the Los Angeles Chargers; former Tennessee Titans General Manager Jon Robinson; Brandon Brown, Assistant General Manager for the New York Giants; Terrance Gray, Director of Player Personnel for the Buffalo Bills; Trey Brown, Senior Personnel Executive for the Cincinnati Bengals; James Gladstone, Director of Scouting Strategy for the Los Angeles Rams; and Josh Williams, Director of Scouting and Football Operations for the San Francisco 49ers.
