Google is launching an exciting new feature for Advanced subscribers of the Gemini app, aimed at enhancing user experience through the ability to recall and reference past conversations for more personalized assistance.
With this update, starting new Gemini chats no longer requires users to begin from square one or sift through previous discussions in the often-busy Recent side panel or mobile lists, which can become overwhelming with basic assistant commands.
When initiating a new conversation, Gemini can now summarize prior chats, respond to follow-up inquiries about previously discussed topics, and expand on earlier projects or dialogues you have engaged in.
Additionally, Gemini leverages insights from relevant historical conversations to generate more context-aware responses. Users may notice when past chats contribute to the information in their replies.
This recall feature enhances the Saved Info capabilities introduced by Google in November, allowing users to set preferences for responses. For instance, you can specify not to receive meat-related recipes if you’re a vegetarian or request code snippets in JavaScript.
Currently, this new recall functionality is being deployed for English-speaking Gemini Advanced users who have subscribed through Google One AI Premium. It is accessible on both web and mobile platforms.
In the upcoming weeks, expect support for additional languages and availability for Google Workspace Business and Enterprise users.
Stay tuned for more updates on Gemini!
