Devin Booker is on a mission to rescue Hooters.

The Phoenix Suns guard has expressed his desire for the beloved restaurant chain to stay afloat amid troubling news of its potential bankruptcy proceedings.

This heartfelt plea follows a report from Bloomberg revealing that Hooters of America is currently in talks with creditors to reorganize approximately $300 million in debt through Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

After leading the Suns to a 121-117 victory over the Chicago Bulls, where he scored 29 points, made eight assists, and recorded two steals, Booker took to X to share his emotions, posting, “Plz don’t go Hooters.”

With impressive season averages of 26 points and 6.7 assists, Booker’s message struck a chord with fans who have followed him from the beginning of his career.

It appears that he has long been a supporter of the iconic restaurant chain.

Booker’s connection to Hooters dates back to at least May 9, 2012, when he tweeted, “I’m thinking hooters tonight with the fellas.”

This tweet came well before his time with the Suns or even his college stint at the University of Kentucky, where he played from 2014-2015 prior to entering the NBA.

Booker’s enthusiasm for Hooters is not unique, as other public figures also share his sentiments.

Influencer Paige Spiranac recently tweeted, “Not on my watch,” in response to the rumors surrounding Hooters’ potential closure or downsizing.

Though concerns about the chain’s financial stability are valid, Hooters is not necessarily facing a permanent shutdown anytime soon.

Last year, around 40 locations closed due to poor performance, but fortunately, none of these closures occurred in Arizona, where Hooters operates approximately 300 restaurants worldwide.

Bloomberg reports that these closures are part of a strategic initiative aimed at reducing debt and adapting to changing market conditions in the restaurant industry.

As for Booker, he faces bigger challenges on the court.

His team, the Suns, stands at 27-29 and is ranked 11th in the Western Conference, meaning they would miss the Play-In tournament if the season concluded today.
