CIBOLO, Texas – A case of Rubella has been confirmed at a school in the San Antonio area, raising awareness among parents and guardians.

On Thursday, Legacy Traditional School – Cibolo notified families via email about the confirmed infection, emphasizing the need for vigilance.

Chris Van Deusen from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DHSH) highlighted the critical differences between German Measles (Rubella) and the more contagious Measles (Rubeola), which carries a significantly higher health risk.

As per DHSH’s latest updates, there are currently no reported cases of Measles (Rubeola) in San Antonio or its nearby regions.

However, Texas is experiencing a Measles (Rubeola) outbreak, with over 100 confirmed instances and multiple exposure alerts, including in the San Antonio area.
