Harry Enten, a leading data analyst at CNN, has spent much of this year surprising viewers with his favorable polling insights regarding President Donald Trump.

However, that narrative shifted significantly this week.

During an appearance on CNN on Thursday, Enten issued a stark warning for Trump.

“Let me be clear: Inflation heavily impacted Joe Biden’s presidency,” he stated. “It devastated it. If Donald Trump isn’t cautious, inflation could similarly undermine his presidency, because that’s precisely where Americans want his attention. They expect him to tackle the inflation crisis and work on reducing prices.”

According to new polling data shared by Enten, 55% of voters want the president to prioritize economic inflation. While Trump pledged to address inflation and lower costs during his campaign, those priorities seem to have taken a backseat in the early stages of his second term.

“No matter which poll you examine, the focus remains clear: it’s the economy, stupid,” Enten remarked.

However, as reported by HuffPost, recent polling indicates that two-thirds (66%) of voters and an impressive 48% of Republicans feel Trump has not been sufficiently focused on this issue.

“They believe Donald Trump is not keeping his priorities in check,” Enten said.

“If this percentage fails to increase, Trump’s approval ratings are likely to decline,” he noted. “I began this segment by stating that inflation severely affected Joe Biden’s presidency. If these figures don’t improve, inflation could have the same disastrous effect on Donald Trump’s second term, potentially undermining it completely.”
