Recent reports indicate that Amazon and Apple are facing challenges in integrating generative AI technology into their respective digital assistants, Alexa and Siri.

Initially, Amazon aimed to unveil its upgraded Alexa during an event in New York on February 26. However, the release of the generative AI-enhanced Alexa has been postponed to March or later, as reported by the Washington Post.

On the other hand, Bloomberg reports that Apple’s significant revamp of Siri is encountering technical difficulties and software glitches. The rollout of some new features originally slated for April may be postponed until May or beyond.

Both Amazon and Apple were eager to launch these advancements swiftly to keep pace with next-generation AI voice assistants, such as OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode and Google’s Gemini Live. However, the progress on these initiatives is not unfolding as expected.
