Amid speculation surrounding retirement, Travis Kelce is set to return to the Chiefs for the 2025 season.
On a recent episode of his show, Pat McAfee revealed that he reached out to Kelce, who confirmed, “I’m coming back, for sure.”
Kelce expressed his determination to regain peak performance this offseason, stating, “I want to get in the best shape of my life and return to the top. I have a sour feeling from how I performed in the last game and how I prepared my team for battle. I can’t leave on that note.”
Although Kelce, 35, previously mentioned in his podcast with his brother Jason that he was contemplating his future in football, it appears he has made a decision to continue playing.
Shortly before this announcement, Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach shared his belief that Kelce still possesses the passion and motivation to compete, suggesting that he expected Kelce to return.
This has now been confirmed, as Kelce is indeed making a comeback.
Recognized as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, Kelce boasts impressive career statistics: in 175 regular-season games, he has tallied 1,004 receptions for 12,151 yards and 77 touchdowns over 12 seasons. Additionally, he holds a postseason record of 178 receptions for 2,078 yards and 20 touchdowns across 25 playoff games.
