In the recently launched announcement video for the iPhone 16e, Apple unveiled a new internal configuration that enables the device to house a more significant battery.

Apple typically does not disclose mAh battery figures for its iPhones. However, in a recent review video of the iPhone 16e, Dave Lee from the YouTube channel Dave2D revealed that the new model comes with a 3,961 mAh battery, representing over a 10% increase compared to the 3,561 mAh battery found in the standard iPhone 16.

According to Apple, the iPhone 16e boasts the best battery life in a 6.1-inch iPhone to date, which is partly attributed to the innovative power-efficient C1 modem.

How does the iPhone 16e perform in real-world usage?

Lee conducted a battery test using the iPhone 16e by continuously loading Reddit over Wi-Fi, finding that the device lasted an impressive 12 hours and 54 minutes. In the same test, the standard iPhone 16 recorded a time of 11 hours and 17 minutes, highlighting the iPhone 16e’s superior performance.

Tom’s Guide performed an additional battery test on the iPhone 16e, yielding similar results to the standard iPhone 16. Their test indicated an average duration of 12 hours and 41 minutes for the iPhone 16e, just slightly lower than the iPhone 16’s 12 hours and 43 minutes. The peak performance recorded for the iPhone 16e was 12 hours and 49 minutes, while the iPhone 16 achieved a maximum of 13 hours and 19 minutes.

As per Tom’s Guide, their testing method simulates regular web browsing over cellular until the battery is drained.

After six days of use with the iPhone 16e, I only needed to charge it three times. With a 30-watt wall charger, it went from 0% to 59% in just 30 minutes. I heavily tested the cameras, utilized Apple Intelligence tools, and played demanding games, yet it easily lasts a full day on a single charge. Depending on usage, it can even stretch to a day and a half before needing a recharge.

In CNET’s video streaming battery test, the iPhone 16e maintained its battery percentage at 100% after an hour, unlike the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15, which both fell to 97% in the same test.
