The Tennessee Titans hold the coveted No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, and while they might consider selecting a quarterback, their options remain open.

Abdul Carter, an edge rusher from Penn State, believes he should be the top choice. He confidently asserts that he’s the best player available in this year’s draft.

“I genuinely believe it’s a realistic possibility,” Carter stated. “I consider myself the finest player in the nation, and the best player deserves to be taken first overall.”

It’s worth noting that the last non-quarterback to be picked first overall was Travon Walker, a defensive lineman from Georgia, who was selected by the Jaguars in 2022.

“This is incredibly important to me,” Carter explained. “Setting this goal was one of my main objectives before the season began. I’ve always aimed for this moment. It’s what I’ve strived for, and I feel I’m getting closer to achieving it. I just need to maintain my focus, keep putting in the effort, and I will realize my dream.”

Carter has decided not to participate in drills at the Scouting Combine, opting instead for medical evaluations and interviews this week. He sustained a shoulder injury during the Fiesta Bowl but reported that it’s now 90 percent healed. He plans to showcase his skills at his Pro Day.

“In the upcoming month, I’ll be nearing full recovery,” Carter mentioned.

Excited about the future, Carter will be attending the draft in Green Bay. “This is all about realizing my dreams, and standing on that stage is something I can hardly wait for,” he said.
