The duo’s appearance coincided with Trump’s signing of an executive order that outlines new strategies for federal agencies regarding the deployment of Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative—an effort to trim what they describe as excessive government expenditures.

It also mandates that agency heads consult a “DOGE Team Lead” during the hiring approval process.
