Rumors are swirling around Apple’s upcoming model, the “iPhone 17 Air,” which is said to boast a larger display than previously anticipated.
In a recent episode of the Recycle Bin podcast, tech insider Jon Prosser revealed that the iPhone 17 Air will sport a 6.7-inch display, shifting from earlier reports of a 6.6-inch screen.
Last year, display analyst Ross Young suggested that the iPhone 17 Air would have a 6.55-inch screen, which might have been rounded to 6.6 inches.
The exact size remains uncertain, with conflicting reports on whether it will be 6.6 inches or 6.7 inches.
Moreover, Prosser indicated that the iPhone 17 Air would measure 5.64mm thick, excluding the anticipated camera bar on the back.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously noted that the iPhone 17 Air could be as thin as 5.5mm at its narrowest point, making Prosser’s figure quite plausible if accurate.
Prosser, a popular tech YouTuber behind the Front Page Tech channel, has a track record of both successes and missteps concerning Apple leaks. He notably disclosed the design of the AirTag ahead of its official release and provided accurate insights about the iPad mini 6. However, he, along with others, misjudged the design of the Apple Watch Series 7, leading to some discrepancies in expectations.
In recent weeks, Prosser has shared multiple updates about Apple products, including details on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro design and iPhone 17 Air. He also hinted at changes to the Camera app in iOS 19, which may feature a new, visionOS-inspired interface.
Apple is anticipated to unveil the iPhone 17 Air in September.
