3) Ongoing discussions swirl around a potential blockbuster trade between the Giants and Rams. Is it possible that the Giants could resolve their quarterback challenges through a trade with Los Angeles instead of pursuing a draft pick? While Jeremiah refrained from confirming any rumors about the Rams potentially trading Matthew Stafford to New York, he acknowledged that the idea has many in the league eagerly anticipating what might unfold.

“Regarding the Stafford situation, I’m not sure if there’s any truth to it, but it’s certainly piqued the interest of many general managers and personnel executives looking to see what will happen with him and the Rams,” Jeremiah commented. “The Rams’ decision not to outright declare ‘he’s off the market’ has left room for speculation regarding a possible deal.”

The question of what it would cost to acquire Stafford is a matter for discussion, but it’s clear why the idea would attract interest from Giants fans. Jeremiah mentioned this possibility when he suggested the Giants might pass on a quarterback to select the versatile star Travis Hunter in his mock draft 2.0.

“When considering the Giants, particularly with the current pressure on the head coach and general manager, it’s crucial to turn things around after a division rival just clinched the Super Bowl. I found myself thinking, imagine the excitement in that market if Matthew Stafford were under center in Week 1, launching passes to Malik Nabers and involving Travis Hunter in the offense. Plus, they have potential opportunities in free agency. Could Cooper Kupp be part of that transaction? Is it a package deal with Stafford? This is where my imagination took me while planning the mock draft,” Jeremiah explained.

4) How can the Lions address their missing piece? It’s evident that securing a top-notch edge rusher to support Aidan Hutchinson should be a focal point for the Lions this offseason. Coincidentally, one of the league’s premier edge rushers has requested a trade, with Myles Garrett looking to join a contender. So far, the Browns have shown no indication of accommodating Garrett’s request. However, if that stance changes, Jeremiah believes the Lions could have a compelling opportunity.

“Detroit seems like a logical destination for Myles Garrett,” he observed. “If the Browns ever decide to move him, which currently seems unlikely, sending him to Detroit could make a lot of sense. The Lions are on track to compete for a championship, and Garrett could be the essential piece they need. If I were Brad Holmes, I’d act decisively, knowing that acquisition could bring significant celebration to the city. We’ll see if this becomes a realistic opportunity. Recent conversations suggest the likelihood of them keeping him remains high, but anything is possible.”

If a deal for Garrett fails to materialize and the Lions opt to remain at Pick No. 28 in the first round, Jeremiah highlighted Tennessee’s James Pearce Jr. and Texas A&M’s Shemar Stewart as potential options for edge-rushing talent available at that position. Hutchinson has already expressed his enthusiasm for teaming up with Garrett.

5) The 49ers’ ideal offseason scenario. Following a disappointing 2024 season, the 49ers may focus on making substantial upgrades in both their offensive and defensive lines. “At their selection spot at No. 11, the 49ers should have a chance to land an excellent player,” he noted. “I’ll be eager to see how Graham performs in the spring. Though his tape is impressive, I’m uncertain if he’ll excel in the combine testing. If there’s a player I believe would be a tremendous fit for them, it would certainly be Mason Graham if he were available,” he asserted.

If this ideal situation does not materialize, trading down could be an enticing option for John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan. In that case, Jeremiah pointed to another defensive tackle, the highly athletic Walter Nolen from Ole Miss, as a great fit within defensive coordinator Robert Saleh’s scheme.
