This week, the Boston Red Sox made headlines by signing infielder Alex Bregman to a significant three-year contract on Saturday.
However, it seems the team has more plans in store.
During a media session at the team’s spring training facility in Fort Myers, Florida, Red Sox manager Alex Cora shared insights into their strategy moving forward.
“In recent years, we’ve focused on the importance of winning, something we haven’t achieved as much as we’d like,” Cora stated. “At the end of last season, the front office and I discussed our direction and agreed that we need to be more proactive this offseason and follow through.”
“So far, we’ve made commendable progress, but we’re not finished yet. We’re actively looking to enhance our roster, which remains our top priority. I believe the players are aware of this.”

While Bregman’s acquisition significantly bolsters the team’s chances of returning to playoff contention, there are still several strategic adjustments on the horizon to improve their performance further. The Red Sox still need to address some uncertainties in their bullpen, with several high-profile free agents available in the market.
Boston fans are likely excited about this latest move and can tune in to a press conference on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. ET at Fenway South.
Alex Bregman, along with his agent Scott Boras, team president Sam Kennedy, chief baseball officer Craig Breslow, and manager Cora, will be addressing the media. You can watch the press conference live on NESN and NESN 360, with additional updates throughout spring training on “310 To Left.”
