Recently, IGN released a detailed article addressing the surge of “eslop” saturating online marketplaces, a concern we at Push Square are equally invested in, albeit with a slightly less intense focus as it relates to the PS Store. Responding to this growing issue, it seems Sony has begun to remove several low-quality titles, primarily from RandomSpin Games, a developer known for releasing new titles nearly every month.

Between the two of us, not much slips past the watchful eyes of TrueTrophies and PSNProfiles, which have reported on the delisting of various similar-looking, potentially deceptive simulation games from dubious developers and publishers (thanks to Eurogamer for their insights).

The timing of these actions is quite intriguing and we hope it reflects the influence of thoughtful journalism. Nevertheless, the journey towards a cleaner digital store isn’t over. For instance, RandomSpin’s highly anticipated title, Supermarket Simulator Pro, has been removed. Yet, a considerable number of Supermarket Simulator games are still available on the PS Store, reportedly from various developers, displaying remarkably similar gameplay features and assets.
