The Miami Dolphins have notified running back Raheem Mostert that he will be released, as confirmed by his agent on social media on Friday afternoon.
Mostert joined the Dolphins in 2022 and had an impressive season, making the Pro Bowl after amassing a career-high 1,012 rushing yards and scoring 18 touchdowns in 2023. He distinguished himself as the NFL’s leader in total touchdowns with 21 during his Pro Bowl year.
“It appears that my client, Raheem Mostert, will be taking his talents elsewhere next season,” stated his agent, Brett Tessler, on X. “We are incredibly grateful for his time with the Miami Dolphins. This decision presents an opportunity for both the team to rejuvenate and for him to chase a championship with a new squad.”
At 32 years old, Mostert concludes his journey with the Dolphins having recorded a total of 2,181 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns.
With Mostert’s departure, the Dolphins are left with De’Von Achane and 2024 fourth-round draft pick Jaylen Wright managing the backfield. Achane was the team’s primary running back last season, leading all NFL running backs with 78 receptions and 592 receiving yards.
