Netflix’s spokesperson, MoMo Zhou, recently informed The Verge that the appearance of Netflix as a "participating" service in Apple TV this morning, which included temporary support for features like watchlists and "continue watching,” was a mistake and has since been corrected. This revelation disappointed many, as we saw an outpouring of excitement in the comments on the initial report.

Historically, Netflix has been resistant to Apple’s initiatives aimed at consolidating content from various streaming platforms and has similarly shunned collaborations with other tech giants like Google. Therefore, it was unexpected to see Netflix seemingly take a step toward this direction without any formal press release or announcement from either party. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman later suggested that the situation was simply a glitch.

For the time being, Netflix’s approach remains unchanged. The streaming giant continues to encourage users to explore and enjoy its offerings exclusively within the Netflix app. While there may still be a possibility for Netflix to reconsider its stance in the future, that prospect remains elusive for now. At least, this incident has illustrated that integration could be feasible.
