While many teams are considering their quarterback options this offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars have made it clear: Trevor Lawrence is not on the trading block.
Following reports of the Pittsburgh Steelers reaching out to the Jaguars about a potential trade for Lawrence, Jacksonville has firmly told interested teams to look elsewhere.
Pittsburgh entered the previous season with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson at the helm, but neither player is signed beyond 2025.
According to a Jaguars insider who spoke with ESPN, there is a “zero chance” Lawrence will be traded, labeling the notion of parting with the former Clemson star and Heisman Trophy winner as “absurd.”

Lawrence has become a beloved figure among fans in Jacksonville, with his college roots just a short flight away, making a potential trade even more controversial among an already tense fan base.
Despite finishing with a 9-8 record in both 2022 and 2023, the Jaguars struggled significantly in 2024, ending the season with a disappointing 4-13 record, resulting in the dismissal of head coach Doug Pederson.
Jacksonville’s search for a new head coach was equally shaky, with numerous top candidates seemingly reluctant to work under general manager Trent Baalke.
After an unusual series of negotiations, Liam Coen initially opted to remain with the Buccaneers as their offensive coordinator but ultimately joined the Jaguars following Baalke’s firing.
It’s uncertain who the Steelers would have reached out to had they pursued a trade, considering Jacksonville still has not appointed a new general manager since Baalke’s exit.

Currently, the Jaguars are in the midst of hiring a new general manager, with Giants assistant Brandon Brown among the frontrunners having already had his interview.
Lawrence is set to embark on the final year of his rookie deal and is poised to begin a lucrative five-year, $275 million extension in 2026.
