The grid for the 67th Daytona 500 is officially established—this year featuring an unexpected twist.
While the race was initially expected to feature 40 cars, it will include a special 41st entry in 2025. Four-time Indy 500 champion Helio Castroneves will make his debut in NASCAR due to a new exemption for elite drivers. Although he won’t be eligible for championship points or prize money, Castroneves will start in the 21st row as a part of Trackhouse Racing.
Chase Briscoe, who secured the pole position, will lead the pack to the starting line this Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET, airing on Fox. He will be joined by Austin Cindric, who clinched the second position by winning the second Duel race.
