Sony has unveiled an enhanced edition of Days Gone, the acclaimed 2019 PlayStation 4 title where players navigate the post-apocalyptic world on a motorcycle to escape relentless foes.
Set to release on April 25, this upgraded version will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC through both Steam and the Epic Games Store, as announced during Sony’s recent State of Play presentation.
Owners of the original Days Gone on PS4 or PC can upgrade to this definitive edition for just $10 (UK pricing yet to be confirmed).
This new iteration introduces a survival arcade mode called Horde Assault, featuring larger enemy hordes, alongside exciting new options like Permadeath and Speedrun modes.
Improvements to graphics are also a highlight of this version, boasting enhanced draw distances, shadows, and lighting effects, as well as added accessibility features, including customizable game speed and controller remapping.
This announcement comes shortly after reports that Bend Studio, the creators of Days Gone, had their unannounced live-service project canceled by Sony, following the disappointing launch of Concord.
According to previous reports from Bloomberg, the studio was in the process of developing a new game incorporating multiplayer elements and enhancements to the open-world dynamics that Days Gone is known for. The future direction for the team remains uncertain.
