The Android version of the Apple TV app will introduce functionalities like offline downloads and personalized watchlists, as reported by TechCrunch. Users can subscribe to Apple TV Plus and access the MLS Season Pass through Google Play billing. However, the option to rent or purchase movies and TV shows will not be available via the Android app.
According to a report from Bloomberg released on Wednesday, Apple is set to launch the app for Android devices. While an Apple TV Plus application is already accessible on Android TV, this move will extend its availability to Android smartphones as well. Apple has not yet responded to a request for comment from The Verge.
Beyond Apple gadgets, users can already enjoy Apple TV Plus on numerous smart TVs and streaming devices. For a comprehensive list, visit Apple’s official website. The monthly subscription for Apple TV Plus is currently priced at $9.99.
This new Apple TV Plus app complements several other Apple applications that are already available on Android, such as Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, and an app for managing settings on Beats devices.
Update, February 12th: The rollout of the app has begun.
