Stadium is an exciting new mode set to debut in Overwatch 2, introducing Mods—an innovative feature that allows players to make incremental enhancements to stats and skills, enabling personalized character builds. In this fast-paced format, participants will develop a single hero over the course of an extensive match that features rapid transitions between various maps and game modes in a best-of-seven format. Each round begins with players accessing an armory, where they can utilize points accumulated from the prior round to strengthen their character’s abilities. For instance, Reaper can soar in Wraith Form, Soldier: 76’s healing station can extend its range and provide a power boost to allies, and Kiriko gains the ability to teleport across the battlefield without needing to target a teammate. Blizzard promotes Stadium as the pinnacle of each hero’s potential, amplifying their abilities to exhilarating lengths of destruction and mayhem.

A key feature of the Stadium mode is the option to play in either first-person or third-person perspectives. Blizzard aims to reduce visual clutter that often intensifies as abilities are enhanced throughout the match. The mode will initially include 14 heroes, with plans to integrate additional characters over time. Stay tuned for our upcoming insights on this new gameplay feature.
